LGBTQIA+ Pride 2021 – Part 1: Corporations

This year for our annual Pride discussion, we have a two-parter. First up, a number of things came into the media sphere for 2021. And the online community had many opinions about the co-opt of PRIDE to make money by companies and especially larger corporations. Some have the opinion that commercialism of human rights causes is evil. Another opinion is that companies pander to the LGBTQIA+ community for one month while working with others against our rights and humanity.

Two years ago a Forbes article advised to be aware of companies with Pride color logos that also donated to anti-gay politicians.

GLAAD this year came out with over two dozen partnerships including: Adobe, Audible, Bud Light, Crocs, Fabletics, GAP, Kellogg, Sally Hansen, Samuel Adams, Savage X Fenty, Skittles, Teletubbies, Ugg, Universal Music, Zales.
