HOT Bears Unrun Day 2 Midday Events

Let’s check out what’s going on the middle of the day for the HOT Bears Unrun.  Check out all the events after the cut.

Eeyore’s 45th Annual Birthday Party: Noon-5pm – Pease Park
1100 Kingsbury St, Austin
Admission: Free

You’ve seen the T-Shirts.  Keep Austin Weird.  We’re damn proud of it. Check out what Wikipedia has to say here. Live music from noon to 7pm featuring: Don Chani, Tribal Nation, El Tule, and Rattletree.  Look for Shaw with the HOT Bears Banner and Bear Flag.

Kayaking on Lady Bird Lake: 2pm-3pm – Texas Rowing Center
1541 W Cesar Chavez St, Austin
Admission: Single Kayak – $10 per hour, Double – $15 per hour

HOT Bears Secretary Eric miller will show you how and take you on a tour of his favorite secret sites along the shore.  Dress to get a little wet and bring sunscreen.  Park along Cesar Chavez and look for the center across from Austin High School.  Eric will be in a HOT Bears T-Shirt.

Lady Bird Wild Flower Center: 1pm
4801 La Crosse Ave, Austin

This special place exists to introduce people to the beauty and diversity of wildflowers and other native plants.  Meet at the entrance and look for Rober in his HOT Bears T-Shirt.

Blanton Museum of Art: 1pm – The University of Texas at Austin
MLK and Congress
Admission: $7

Among the current exhibitions is WorkSpace.  WorkSpace showcases cutting edge developments in the work of emergin and established contemporary artists.  Meet in the Lobby and look for Peter in a HOT Bears T-shirt.

Texas State Capital and Bob Bullock Museum: 1pm – State Capital
100 Congress
Admission $7

Take a walking tour of the Texas State Capital and visit the Bob Bullock museum.  Parking garages are on Trinity by the east wing of the Capital.  Meet at the south steps of the capital and look for Jon in his HOT Bear T-shirt.

South Congress Shopping: All Day

one of the best walking neighborhoods in Austin, South congress is a great place to spend a few hours in and out of the eclectic stores or just haning out at Joe’s Coffee, getting ice cream at Amy’s or listening to street music.
