* Recording consistently starts late. After 70+ episodes, shouldn’t the logistics be in place yet to start on time?

* “Disclaimer: Not for breeders”: Fuck, this pisses me off. I can’t take any conversation about discrimination (against gay people, bears, asians, anything) seriously while this tag is in place. It’s fucking insulting. It is not fucking cute.

* JJ said “Let’s get real”, or some variant thereof, within 2 minutes. This is a new drinking game. For maximum drinking fun, also take a drink on JJ’s “Seriously”. Seriously.

* I haven’t timed how long cellphones were the topic. It was a good chunk, as was the same topic last week, and the week before. I would rather stick forks in my ears than listen to continued coverage of the iPhone, and how the iPhone compares to other phones, the iPhone in relation to AT&T vis a vis applicable data/voice plans, and/or any other related topics.

* 10.37pm: “Shall we discuss some gay topics?” Yes.

Hey guys,

I was listening to Episode 72 and as I was listening to the part where Griff brings up the ‘marriage is a religious concept’ subject the issue of origin of words came up. Griff made the comment of gays being called ‘fagots’ seemed odd because it’s the British term for cigarettes. Now, not that Griff is wrong, but I want to make sure people do know the true origin on the term ‘fagot’. I’m sure you guys do, but if you don’t I’m about to explain.

Fagot, by strict definition, means a bundle of sticks. Now, back in the day, these where used as kindle for fires. They were seen as useless in other applications, and only good for being burned. During the witch trails, where witches were burned at the stake, they weren’t the only ones. Homosexuals were also burned. Of course, the reasonings ran the gambit from Christian morals to homosexuals being seen as useless. Since, homosexuals were seen as no more valuable than fagots they were burned as if were fagots. Hence where we got that name. I’m sure from this you can also deduce where the phrase ‘flaming homosexual’ comes from now.

I’m about to get on a soap box, so skip this part if you don’t want to read it. When person A calls person B a fagot, most people see this as person A trying to insult person B’s manhood, embarrass them some how, or signify them as less than. In fact, calling someone a fagot is much more malicious. It is inciting extreme, violence and torture. Imagine being burned alive. It’s not your run-of-the-mill violence. Also, because of this, it is not just directed at a singular person. It gives a fear of violence to a group of people; it is verbal terrorism. Okay, I’m off the soap box now.

Again, I’m sure you guys knew this, but if you didn’t I hope you were enlightened.

On a lighter note, I have made it to Savannah. I’m very happy to be here and I will be at the next recording since I have full internet now.
