      This is Lawdogg 28. I was on ustream tonight listening to the show. It was very cool to see and hear all the behind the scenes work that goes into your podcast.

      Now I don’t know if you remember me, but I sent an email response into the show awhile back. It was during the infamously heated podcast between Griff and Jeff.  I am the DC attorney that wrote the ridiculously long email message in response to the show with the Fearless reference. Well the next show following, Griff you made an invitation to have me as a legal guest and/or small legal segment sometime in the future. Well if the offer still stands I would love to help out the show anyway I can.

      So just let me know.

      Anyway keep up the great work guys.

      Also I wanted to bring up this point. In the straight world do they differentiate between “hook-up” sites and “dating” sites. Most of my straight friends, ages 27-35,  go on dating sites to hook up and they go on hook up sites to hook up. I think we as gay men are conditioned to engage in courtship rituals differently then straight people for many reasons one of which is due to the fact many gay men are closeted. Thus as a result the lines of dating and hooking up are blurred because of the mere fact when you are in the closet you are not being true to yourself and therefore lack the capacity to be in healthy relationship.  That is why for me when I was younger my only “gay” outlet for me was gay sex. Nothing else in my world as a young adult was gay, no gay friends, no gay role modles, nothing except for gay sex. So what do you think.

      PS-  Love the weight lose stuff. I know that we as bears take pride in our size but alternatively there are health issues we must be cognizant of. Griff my only advice to you is that if you want to keep the weight you are losing off you MUST workout. That means, lift weights, run, bike, walk,dance, yoga et al as long as you do some movement. I do power yoga three times a week and lift weight at least once a week. Also walk 1.6 miles a day to the DC metro.

      PSS- A possible topic could be “racisim in the bear community”. What you said tonight about JJ being dicked around, and not in the fun way, by the Bear411 webmaster is fucking sad and that sort of shit pisses me off.

  • Howdy–

    I’m a new listener, but had a couple things I thought I’d share post listening to the most recent podcast I downloaded:

    1. I totally agree with you about the size issues on rides at theme parks!  I live in Tampa and have an annual pass to Busch Gardens.  I’m almost 6′ and 250…and definitely wouldn’t say the largest person in my posse.  However, we are always banished to the XL seats at the park.  I have tried to squeeze into the regular seats, but often find them to be so uncomfortable or just can’t get them to lock properly.  The funny thing is that I’ve always been a big kid and never noticed that I don’t fit into seats like that until lately…do you think there’s some conspiracy to squeeze more seats on the rides?  LOL.  But seriously…I can totally relate!

    2. As far as the TV shows mentioned on DVD…I was so sad to hear that none of my favorites were mentioned.  I would like to mention – Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I own the Chosen Collection of the whole series), Dead Like Me (one of the best shows ever!), Wonderfalls (from the same folks who brought us Reaper), and All American Girl (just because I’m gay and obliged to like Margaret Cho).  I own the complete series of all of the above and could watch them over and over.  There are many other series I’d love to own and hopefully will someday, but just had to throw those out there as my favorites in the collection.

    3. I also had some thoughts about the fag hag controversy.  I’ve also had some female friends mention that it’s not a term they particularly like.  I’ve heard lots more lately, like “alternative lifestyle companion” (I just think they were watching Rick and Steve and wishing they were Condi Ling), but it seems to be all over the net as the politically correct version.  One of my friends came up with “Fairy Princess” once as a joke, but it’s stuck with her.  All in all, my suggestion is just to ask what they want to be called and go from there.

    4. Therapy – big fan!  I agree that it is a great way to just get it all out before you decide to take it out on yourself or others!  And I don’t mean injure or mame anyone, but more the whole snapping or just putting one’s self down or whatever.  Always good to know you have someone you can be COMPLETELY honest with…even if you’re paying them to be show concern! :)

    5. 2009 – SUCKED!  I agree!  I was so glad that 2010 came along…and here’s to hoping that 2010 is better!  I can honestly think of only 1 really positive thing that happened to me in 2009 – but the rest of the year wound up messing it up and I couldn’t even enjoy/appreciate it.  It’s pretty much like discovering a great recipe for something that just sounds so good to eat – but you can’t get the ingredients, the oven is broken, and someone stole your cooking untensils.  At least I can look back and think of that one thing – but here’s to hoping that 2010 is full of the good stuff and makes up for it, as well as I can finally get to make that recipe!

Feedback From the Email Bag Howdy-- I'm a new listener, but had a couple things I thought I'd share post listening to the most recent podcast I downloaded: 1. I totally agree with you about the size issues on rides at theme parks!nbsp; I live in Tampa and have an annual pass to Busch Gardens.nbsp; I'm almost 6' and 250...and definitely wouldn't say the largest person in my posse.nbsp; However, we are always banished to the XL seats at the park.nbsp; I have tried to squeeze into the regular seats, but often find them to be so uncomfortable or just can't get them to lock properly.nbsp; The funny thing is that I've always been a big kid and never noticed that I don't fit into seats like that until lately...do you think there's some conspiracy to squeeze more seats on the rides?nbsp; LOL.nbsp; But seriously...I can totally relate! 2. As far as the TV shows mentioned on DVD...I was so sad to hear that none of my favorites were mentioned.nbsp; I would like to mention - Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I own the Chosen Collection of the whole series), Dead Like Me (one of the best shows ever!), Wonderfalls (from the same folks who brought us Reaper), and All American Girl (just because I'm gay and obliged to like Margaret Cho).nbsp; I own the complete series of all of the above and could watch them over and over.nbsp; There are many other series I'd love to own and hopefully will someday, but just had to throw those out there as my favorites in the collection. 3. I also had some thoughts about the fag hag controversy.nbsp; I've also had some female friends mention that it's not a term they particularly like.nbsp; I've heard lots more lately, like "alternative lifestyle companion" (I just think they were watching Rick and Steve and wishing they were Condi Ling), but it seems to be all over the net as the politically correct version.nbsp; One of my friends came up with "Fairy Princess" once as a joke, but it's stuck with her.nbsp; All in all, my suggestion is just to ask what they want to be called and go from there. 4.
