LTA… The Future of Events
Since the inception of the leather, bear, and kink communities events have been a way for people to come together and share time and space to make memories. With over fifty years of events having occurred, a lot has changed the landscape. From the digital revolution to worldwide pandemics, now we’re looking at how things have evolved. But has it all been for the betterment of the experience for attendees? Are there areas that need work? What opportunities are there for the coming years of activities?
In this episode of Cubs Out Loud, the cubs celebrate the tenth anniversary of the podcast. That’s right! In 2008, a group of guys were brought together and COL was born. Since then, the show has had several co-hosts, guests, topics, and a whole lot of fun! As the guys reminiscence on the shows of COL past, learn a little more about the history and what’s in the works for the future. It’s a decade of dubious debauchery.
Pilot show posted back on Thursday 1/17/08. And now we’ve recorded 658 episodes to date! That’s 448 regular episodes, with 16 special/alternate shows, 135 COL Movies episodes, 15 COLTV shows, plus 44 episodes of COL Drag Race ‘T-Time’. PLUS 6 Random Acts of Cubiness… Whew!
In this episode of Cubs Out Loud, we are joined by Mr. COL Bear and Mr. NAB 2016 Ray to talk about contests, titles, contestants, and winning (or losing). What does it take to be in a contest? Listen in as the guys tally out the ins and outs of running for–and being–a titleholder.
In this episode of Cubs Out Loud, the guys are joined by special guests from across the pond, Bruce and Shutter, to speak on the state of our community. In a year of highlights and lowlights to the LGBT community, the cubs gather together to share their perspectives on US marriage equality, the Orlando shooting, and the UK’s recent vote to potentially leave the EU. It’s a Hostful New Update special edition.

Hi again, cubs!
First, I would like to thank you for giving me a shout out in your last episode. I am glad my email was able to clarify some of your questions and I hope your episode was able to answer other people’s questions as well. Second, I was gladly surprised to receive a public invitation to your podcast! I’d be happy to try it out as I have never been invited to a podcast before. I am going to be moving to Albuquerque, NM this Friday and will not have internet at home for a few days… or many (if you have comcast you may know what I mean). However, let me know how you’d like to start this.
Best,
Francisco Salgado-Garcia (aka Cisco)

Rex Rivers:
I will not be silenced by fear.
The father of Omar Mateen, the suspect who shot and killed more than 50 people at Orlando’s gay nightclub Pulse, said that his son didn’t like it when he saw two men kissing recently in Miami.
Go out and kiss. In public. Make seeing a kiss a common thing. Take away it’s “shock” value. Do it for those who died, and those who won’t because you had the courage to express your love.

The “Kiss Goodnight” is the Magic Kingdom’s way of ending your day at the park where they light up the castle in a unique way plus have a narrator wishing you had a magical time at the park. During the vigil, Disney cut the music normally played, and changed the lighting scheme to a rainbow.
In this episode of Cubs Out Loud, the guys are joined by recurring guests Hadrian and Gabe to discuss the business of touching. From the various types of massages experienced to the reality versus fantasy of happy endings. Which of us has been touched the way we want?
