With this in mind, the guys reflect on what that means this year as legislation reaches new heights of removing all the progress that has been made in recent years. At midnight June 1st, internet and social media codes around the world swapped basic images for ones with suddenly colorful versions of their corporate logos. The ‘gays’ awoke in the morning to choose wrath or being a demon. Which means it must be that season once again, PRIDE is here and it’s 2023. The landscape has changed vastly. Drag entertainment is at the height of professional productions while states have been legislating all over the place to reverse gains in equity over recent years.

In this episode of Cubs Out Loud, it’s time for another Let’s Talk About… This time around, the guys return to a previous conversation regarding the FDA’s recent changes to the “blood ban”. Back during COVID, the ban for men who have sex with men was relaxed somewhat. Now, the ban has been changed again and broadens the ability for MSM to give blood. But are the changes for the better? Listen in as the cubs debate the new changes and discuss the potential benefits it may have for the community at large.

Twitter recently announced another update to its policies [not yet incorporated into their TOS]. Now linking to ‘some’ other social media platforms will get your shutdown/banned. Slowly the platform has been losing users, advertisers, and the community of kink/MSM/LGBTQIA+ has been searching for a new home. Which begs some questions… Where do we go next? What do we want in our platforms? How much would we pay for such a thing? Does anyone care?

  • Advice my Mom gave me growing up that I didn’t always take, “stick with the winners.”  I have adapted it to, “Stay close to the ones who know where they are headed.” I don’t like the winners/losers dichotomy, but it has the same idea.
