One issue I wanted to bring up on the sexual racism topic is a more general problem: when white people make the person of color not only have to deal with and respond to the racism, but also take on the burden of fixing it and educating people, etc. It lets we white people get away with our ignorance, and I think we need to call one another out on it more often and stop apologizing for one another. And, of course, consult the many, many resources already out there on the topic, rather than asking every person of color to explain to us (and then argue with them about it).
That said, I’m glad for this episode, for Yoshi and Beacon being willing to take their time to discuss their experiences and explain this all over again, as I’m sure they do often, if they have the patience.
